We’re excited that you’re interested in being part of this year’s celebration! By getting involved, you’re helping us honor Dr. King’s legacy and this year’s theme, “The Power of a Dream.” Every participant, sponsor, and volunteer plays a role in creating a safe, family-friendly, and inspiring event for our community.
Please review the participation guidelines before moving forward. You can choose how you’d like to get involved by clicking one of the options — become a volunteer, sign up your organization, submit a proposal to provide services, or join as a sponsor.

General Rules and Guidlines
2026 St. Pete MLK Parade – Participation Guidelines
Check-In:
Monday, January 19, 2026, at 8:30 A.M.
Participants will receive their parade number and placement at check-in.
Parade Start:
Step-off is at 11:00 A.M. sharp.
Route length: approximately 1.5 miles.
Application Deadline:
January 11th, 2026.
Late entries may still participate but will be positioned at the end of the parade.
Appropriateness:
This is a family-friendly event. All entries must be suitable for all ages.
No political, controversial, or special-interest platforms are permitted.
Forward Motion:
All participants must maintain continuous forward movement throughout the route.
Marching Musical Units:
Must perform along the entire parade route.
Uniform attire is required.
Floats:
Push floats or decorated trailers are recommended.
Maximum dimensions: 50 ft. length x 14 ft. height x 10 ft. width.
A brief float design description must be submitted with the application.
Marchers & Specialty Units (clowns, color guards, scouts, etc.):
Carts or vehicles with sound must notify organizers in advance.
All vehicles must be decorated.
Vehicles:
Maximum of 4 vehicles per entry (except motorcycles, which may include up to 8).
Vehicles must be antique, unique, or represent a business.
Proof of insurance is required.
Drill & Dance Teams:
Minimum of 10 members.
Routines must be choreographed to maintain forward motion.
Age Restrictions:
Walkers must be at least 6 years old.
At least 1 adult per 6 children under age 13.
Children on floats must be supervised at all times.
